How travel-time search beats radius search
A 10-mile circle treats a freeway commute and a mountain pass the same. Searching by minutes finds homes a circle never would.
Every real-estate site lets you draw a circle: show me homes within 10 miles. But you don't live in miles — you live in minutes. Ten miles down an open freeway is twelve minutes; ten miles through downtown lights at rush hour can be forty-five.
Travel-time search flips the question. Instead of "how far is this home from a point," it asks "how long does it take to get from this home to the places I actually go" — your grocery store, your gym, your kid's school, your office.
That's what the routes on the Proximity map show: real drive, bike, or walk times to the closest place in each category you care about. Two homes at the same distance can score wildly differently once roads, rivers, and freeways enter the picture — and the better one is usually not the one a circle would have picked.
